About Me
I am a passionate emerging wildlife artist, specialising in oils and love having the opportunity to paint pet portraits, and capture your special family member in the medium of the old masters.
Why wildlife you might ask, well for me the plight of those species of wildlife whom in my own lifetime so far I’ve seen deplete in number is a particular passion and drive for me to capture in oils.
I love to push myself in improving techniques on each and every painting, to capture the soul of the animal I create on canvas, it feels like connecting to its story and in the case of endangered animals to bring to light their plight of survival.
I’ve always been a bit of a creative since a young girl, but my discovery of oils was only when I started some weekly lessons with a local artist named George at the courtyard centre in Lychett Mattravers when I was a teenager, although I didn’t carry on classes when I started college, I to this day still have a few pieces I created back then. After a 20 year break I found my passion for art come to the fore during Covid lockdown. During this time I struggled with stress and work pressure and needed a way to release this, I realised that creative inside of me had been locked in under 20 years of coping with life’s challenges!
Art has helped me see the beauty in more detail of our day to day lives aswell as the greater nature in this world we live, I aim to help bring out the beauty of the wildlife we have on earth. I am proud to say that I now donate a % of art originals or merchandise profits to two conservation charities (more info to come!)
Below are some of my oil paintings I created as a teenager….
