Working from her studio room in her home in the UK, Susi builds her pieces from a base layer of oils adding layer after layer once each is dry to give the depth and impression of fur/feathers. As well as using high quality Belle Arts canvases, Susi also only uses Michael Harding Traditional oil paints, these provide such richness of colour and texture along with good drying times due to their high quality materials within the paint. Michael Harding oils are made in the UK.

Starting with the eyes and moving out from that central location she brings the individual characters of each animal to life. ​
